Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our 18th Century Country Inn which has 10 bedrooms. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
Pre Arrival
- There is a bus stop 60 metres from the entrance to the Hart's Head Inn.
- The nearest railway station is Settle which is 0.7.miles away.
- There are two local taxi services – their telephone numbers are 01729 824824 or 01729 824888. If you need their services we strongly recommend you make a reservation in advance of your arrival.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
- Please note our opening times which are shown here
- Normally, we will be able to accommodate arrivals when closed by ringing the doorbell which is on the front of the building. A notice at the front will give also give you a contact telephone number in case we have popped out for some reason.
- The car park is free and has marked bays. One of them, at the front of the building, is reserved for people with disabilities. Parking is available at the front and rear of the building.
- We can assist guests with luggage.
- The centre of the village of Giggleswick is just two minutes walk.
Main Entrance & Reception
- The front door has one step which is 13cm high. By the end of September 2007 we will also have an entrance which can be used by people with disabilities.
- The front door is locked when we are closed but a door bell alerts us to the need for assistance.
- The door is over 1m wide and leads to another door which is 79cm which leads into the bar.
- The area is carpeted throughout.
Public Areas - Ground Floor
- The bar and restaurant areas offer a variety of seating and tables. Most furniture can be moved on request.
- By the end of September 2007 there will be a toilet for the Disabled which will be on the same level as the bar and restaurant.
- The rooms are well lit.
- The bar has a 40” T.V. which shows Sky Sports.
- Dog water bowl is available on request.
- Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant (except Assistance Dogs).
- Breakfasts are served in the dining room.
Public Areas - First Floor
- The Inn has seven bedrooms on the first floor.
- The first floor is accessed by a main staircase consisting of 8 steps (each 110cm wide and 18cm high) to a landing/turning area which is 195cm by 216cm. You then travel up a further 7 steps (each 110cm wide and 18cm high) to the first floor landing.
- The first floor has a telephone which can be used to get assistance.
- The corridors on the first floor are 80cm wide and the doors into the bedrooms are also 80cm wide.
- Dogs are not permitted in the Guest Bedrooms.
- Smoking is not permitted in the Guest Bedrooms.
- 24 hour access is provided via the Fire Escape which consists of 32 rises. However, either the Owners or the Duty Manager are available at most times of each afternoon if access is difficult and they will open the front door for you.
Public Areas - Lower Ground Floor
- The main Gents and Ladies toilets are located on the lower ground floor. 12 steps take you down.
- The Smoking Shelter is on this level.
- A patio area and beer garden are accessed from this level. To get to the garden you will need to go down three steps. The beer garden has children's play equipment in it but please note that parts of the garden are quite steep.
- The Snooker Room is also on the lower ground floor but this is accessed by a different staircase which consists of 13 steps in a spiral which are 90cm wide and 22cm deep.
Public Areas - Annexe
- The Annexe has three bedrooms which are accessed by either a ramp (gradient 1 in 12) or via steps.
- The corridor is 75cm wide.
- There is a telephone in the corridor should assistance be required.
Bedrooms
- The Hart's Head is an 18th Century Grade II Listed Building. All of the bedrooms are different in size and shape. All are en-suite. Some with baths, some with showers. All have toilets and wash-basins.

- 1 family (1 double bed and one set of bunk beds).
- 3 doubles.
- 1 twin.
- 1 twin/double.

Annexe
- 1 single.
- 2 doubles.
- All bedrooms have fully controllable central heating.
- All bedrooms have a T.V. and some satellite channels.
- All bedrooms have Tea/Coffee making facilities.
- All bedrooms are carpeted and bathrooms have cushion flooring.
- Most doors are at least 71cm wide but one single room door is only 64cm wide.
- Most bedrooms have secondary double glazing.
- Please note that our single rooms are quite small.
Additional Information
- Assistance Dogs are welcomed by arrangement.
- Mobile phone reception is good at the front of the building but not so good at the rear.
- Free internet access is provided by wireless broadband – bring your own wireless enabled computer.
- Smoking is not allowed in the building.
- We can supply a small number of small fridges upon request. When this is not possible we can put items in our main refrigerators but access is not available at certain times.
